It's encouraging to find this site on the web. I've been looking for a site where I can find support, especially with the difficulties of being a step dad. I guess I need an outlet to talk about my problems or concerns etc and your site looks like it could do that.

Regards.

Thanks, Tim. It's amazing to me too, sometimes -- I had never realized how involved the work of public health was until we got together.

Wow. Your partner is my hero. That's the coolest job in the world. The fact that just a few people can help to check and contain disease in our society is amazing to me.

Hopefully the mumps will pass you guys by though. :)

Sadly... I hear this stuff almost every day at work.

You have it right when you say the kids are the ones to suffer.

The adults should deal with this away from the view of the children, and they should act like adults when they do. (It sounds like (at least so far) you have. Kudos to you for that).

Looking forward to part 2.

Thanks Tim. There's more to come, worse yet, but if this were all, I'd agree -- it's pretty terrible. And like you say, it's hard to believe people don't realize the kinds of lessons they are teaching.

Wow. That's horrifying. It sounds like your kids will be just fine (and will probably thrive even more because of this), but it's just horrible that some people don't realize how easy kids are to damage.
I grew up with a mother with multiple personalities. And it's hard to sort out trauma inflicted by parents. Really hard.
Good choice on getting them into counseling.
